My true love of photography has always been with capturing everyday moments as they happen and trying to see the symmetry and beauty in life and what surrounds us.
I was travelling through Denmark and was spending time in their capital Copenhagen. What a stunningly beautiful city and very modern compared to most other cities that I have been to over the years. As with most of my travels, I always try to do things the locals do. In this case it was using the local subway train system. As I was exiting one of the subway stations on my way to the Tivoli Gardens, I turned around just before the exit and was presented with the sight you see in the picture. All of a sudden, I could see what the designers had intended with the flow of people and the symmetry of the lines as the escalators disappeared into the distance. All while being juxtaposed by the large old fashioned clock beckoning the arrival of new transit passengers to hurry along for fear of missing their train. It was for me the perfect marriage between old and new, form and function.
