3 @ Camps Bay Hotel

3 @ Camps Bay

3 @ Camps Bay is a funky little hotel situated on the slopes of Camps Bay overlooking the ocean. A stunning location and and extremely beautiful hotel. Any decor photographer would dream to do a hotel like this. They offer 18 rooms all with either sea or mountain views. You cannot ask for any better. As a decor photographer, photographing the hotel was a dream. It all came unexpected as I was at the hotel to photograph the businesswomen of the year for 2012 and as I was waiting for the winner, the owner George Colyvas asked me if I was also a decor photographer.

A long story short, he looked at my portfolio and hired me to redo the entire hotel from start to finish. Do yourself a favour. Treat you and someone special to a wonderful evening at 3 @ Camps Bay. It will be an evening you will never forget.

Stellenzicht Wines Media Function

Stellenzicht Wines Media Function La Mouette Restaurant

Stellenzicht Wines held a media tasting function at La Mouette Restaurant and Image Solutions Photography and DEsign were tasked to be the function photographer for the afternoon.

Stellenzicht Wines, under the watchful eye of master winemaker, Guy Webber, showcased their Golden Triangle label for those wines which most eloquently demonstrate the unique terroir of this special part of the Helderberg, home to some of South Africa’s most exceptional wines.

The setting was La Mouette Restaurant in Sea Point and also boasts a fine dining restaurant as was evident in the spread that was laid out for the media to enjoy. Being the function photographer was a great experience as it allowed me be as creative as I wanted to be with a group of well seasoned media professionals.

The wines on display was accompanied by various dishes to create the perfect pairing. What a delight to have been able to be the function photographer.

Thanks goes out to Marlise Potgieter from DKC (De Kock Communications) for contacting Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the function photographer for the tasting.

Gabriela Araujo Baptism

Gabriela Araujo Baptism

The owner of Orange Grove Farm, Carlos Araujo, asked Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the family photographer during the baptism of his youngest daughter.

The service was held at the Catholic Church in Worcester during a very intimate service for the whole family and group of friends.

What a stunning service. As a family photographer, Gabriela was the perfect model of love and peace. She did not even cry! It was wonderful seeing Carlos in a more private setting as our relationship has always been work related for all the designs and other types of photography that I have done for Orange Grove Farm. The service was followed by a wonderful family gathering at the farm in Robertson.

Gabriela has a wonderful future ahead of her with parents like Carlos and Huibrecht.

Nederburg Heritage Anthology Launch at Die Kasteel

Nederburg Heritage Anthology Launch at Die Kasteel

Nederburg held the official launch of their Heritage Anthology range of wines and Image Solutions Photography and Design were asked to be the function photographer for the big day.

The Nederburg Heritage Anthology range is a reflection of a luxury selection of specialty, hand-made gourmet wines to be sold exclusively in specialist wine shops and restaurants.

The limited-edition quartet features two wooded 2011 varietal whites and two 2009 red blends. The focus of the Heritage Anthology is to pay tribute to a personality who has shaped Nederburg’s history throughout the years, highlighting their invaluable contribution to wines at Nederburg and also throughout South Africa.

As function photographer, this function had been the culmination of a few functions prior to the official launch and it was indeed a privilege to have been part of the entire build up.

The setting was at the long room in “Die Kasteel” and was from my perspective as a function photographer, the perfect setting for the launch. As the Heritage Anthology reflects the older wine makers of years past, so does Die Kasteel reflect our past as a nation of great people.

Thanks goes out to Marlise Potgieter from DKC (De Kock Communications) for helping organise the function and asking Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the function photographer for the big unveil.

British American Tobacco Blend-Off

British American Tobacco Blend-Off

British American Tobacco recently held their Blend-Off and Image Solutions Photography and Design was asked to be the event photographer for the big event.

The Blend-Off started with teams bragging about their skills with the blender and mixing, but soon their bravado would be put to the test. Two teams competed to be the best blenders using different fruits and ingredients supplied to create the best blended smoothie for the judges to choose from. The competition was fast and fierce and being the event photographer I had to keep on my toes as the fruits and juices went flying!

It was an extremely fun event and as a event photographer, I could see the enjoyment of the contestants and sheer pleasure as their blends were sampled. There could be only one victorious team, but in the end British American Tobacco won as their staff had a ball of a time.

Thanks goes out to Heste Stipp for helping with the organising of the event and contacting Image Solutions Photography and DEsign to do the event photography.

Chateau Libertas 80th Anniversary at Big Easy

Chateau Libertas 80th Anniversary at Big Easy

Chateau Libertas held  a media function recently for their 80th birthday and Image Solutions Photography and Design were asked to be the function photographer for the event.

Chateau Libertas has been producing fine wines for the last 80 years and what a better location to have the media tasting than at the building that is so proudly depicted on the front of the label. La Gratitude, now also known as The big Easy in Stellenbosch, was the perfect setting to have such a wonderful event. The Big Easy is also synonymous with fine dining and great wines, a perfect combination with Chateau Libertas. Being the function photographer was a rare privilege and being allowed to photograph in such a beautiful location was an opportunity I could not pass over.

Thanks goes out to Marlise Potgieter from DKC (De Kock Communications) for organising the function and asking Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the function photographer.

BANKSETA Graduation Ceremony Kelvin Grove 2012

BANKSETA approached Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the graduation photographer for the ceremony that was held at Kelvin Grove recently.

BANKSETA is the leading participant in the Sector Education and Training Authorities programme to grow and protect the future of young people in our new democracy.

As graduation photographer, my job was to photograph the recipients while they received they certificates and also to capture the event as it unfolded. It was a small event, yet intimate with friends and family enjoying the sight of their loved ones being rewarded. As a graduation photographer, it si always rewarding to see people achieve things they thought impossible not too long ago and to see them strive for greatness.

Nederburg Wine Maker Günter Brözel Honoured

Nederburg Wine Maker Günter Brözel Honoured

Previous Nederburg wine maker Gunter was honoured recently with his own wine and Image Solutions Photography and Design was asked to be the function photographer for the day.

Günter Brözel, former cellar master of Nederburg wines was paramount to the creation of wines at Nederburg and it comes as now surprise that he is honoured with a wine names after him. The “Motorcycle Marvel” is names after Günter for the fact that he always used to ride his motorcycle through the vineyards to see if everything was still in order.

As function photographer, this was a special privilege to me. Not only was it a surprise for him to see the design of the new wine, but also because someone like Günter has a lifetime of stories to tell which I adore. Being the function photographer was indeed an honor much like it must have felt for Günter to be honoured with his own label.

They even managed to track down the same type of motorcycle that he used to own and he was transformed back to the olden days when he sat on the bike!

Thanks goes out to Marlise Potgieter from DKC (De Kock Communications) for organising the event and asking Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the function photographer for the event.

Bunnahabhain Whisky Function Five Flies Restaurant

Bunnahabhain Whisky Function Five Flies Restaurant

Bunnahabhain Whiskey held a media tasting event at the Five Flies Restaurant and Image Solutions Photography and DEsign was asked to be the function photographer for the event.

Bunnahabhain Whisky is perhaps a less known whisky, but is equal in perfection to some of the more well known names out there. The Bunnahabhain Distillery (pronounced Boon-a-havn and meaning rivermouth in Gaelic) was built in 1881 on the north-eastern tip of the enchanting isle of Islay. It was incorporated in 1882 by the Islay Distillery Co. and then later merged with Wm. Grant & Co. to form Highland Distillers. Burn Stewart Distillers Ltd. acquired Bunnahabhain and the distillery in 2003.

As function photographer, this function had a special feeling to it as the setting was in the heart of the old Cape Town district with the restaurant reflecting that old feel similar to the whisky. Being the function photographer allowed me to capture the style of the function as well as the amazement of the media in knowing that Bunnahabhain Whisky is a great contender for the whisky cabinet.

Thanks goes out to Marlise Potgieter from DKC (De Kock Communications) for having Image Solutions Photography and Design be the function photographer for the day.

GMP Mining Jamboree 2012

GMP Mining Jamboree 2012

GMP Mining Securities in partnership with Clinical Meetings contacted Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the conference photographer for their annual mining jamboree held at the Arabella Hotel and Spa in Kleinmond recently.

The mining jamboree is focused at leading mining CEO’s and companies in the mining industry to connect with others in the industry and discuss possible futures.

As conference photographer, I always find such events extremely fascinating and interesting. As someone who knows very little about the mining industry, there is much to learn!

Clinical Meetings, under the direction of Saul Shanagher had the entire weekend organised and spared no expense and as the conference photographer they helped me all the way. Festivities were ample with everything from fire dancers to stilt walkers. The atmosphere in the evenings was like a carnival with delicious foods and drinks with no end. The guests could truly escape the hard work of the day with a relaxing time catching up with collegues and at the same time be impressed with the entertainment.

Over the course of the two days, the schedule and program was jam packed, but all worked out well under the guidance of Saul Shanagher. Tony Blair even made a surprise visit all the way from England!

Thanks again to Clinical Meetings for contacting mage Solutions Photography and Design to be the conference photographer for this amazing event.
