Farah & Ibrahim Dollie Post Wedding Shoot

Farah & Ibrahim Dollie Post Wedding Shoot

What an extreme pleasure it was to be able to photograph Farah & Ibrahim for their post wedding photo shoot. As a photographer, I knew from the day Farah contacted me that it would be a blast. Farah approached me to be the photographer after being given my details by one of my clients. I could just see the shoot unfold before my eyes when we spoke on the phone.

Her enthusiasm is intoxicating and it made for a really fun shoot as a photographer. Farah and Ibrahim were quite specific about their choice of location as we started at their favourite park in the Strand and made our way towards Bikini Beach in Gordons Bay.

It was indeed a perfect sunset on the beach affording us some wonderful moments of light. The beach was deserted as well making it even better for them to just relax and be with each other.

Stellenbosch Heritage Festival

Stellenbosch Heritage Festival

Stellenbosch held their annual Heritage Festival on the 24th of September 2013. This had been the second year that a concerted effort was placed on the festival and to push the celebration by combining the different regions of the Stellenbosch Municipality and their respective residents. As a photographer from Stellenbosch, I felt it my duty to offer my services with regards to documenting the atmosphere surrounding the festivities and to capture some rare moments as the the town heritage made history.

As a photographer, it was indeed a privilege to be part of such a wonderful effort to bring communities together. Our future lies hand in hand with our heritage, Stellenbosch is paving the way towards social coherence and true bridge building.

There were indeed too many events happening throughout the entire festival that it would be difficult to mention them all, but at least here you will see a small selection of some of the events that took place.

As owner of Image Solutions Photography and Design, I would just like to thank all those who made the day and the days surrounding the festival an unforgettable success. Here is to another year with many more to go!

Brandhouse Conference Photographer

BRANDHOUSE CONFERENCE PHOTOGRAPHY

Image Solutions Photography and Design were contacted to be the photographer for the Brandhouse gathering that recently took place in Cape Town.

Brandhouse recently took the opportunity to introduce their new General Manager to the long list of accolades that already adorn the walls of Brandhouse. The event was held across from their offices in Cape Town at the River Club on Mobray. The who’s who within Brandhouse were represented and it was a wonderful gathering of likeminded individuals sharing their experiences over food and laughter.

The day started off with a relaxed coffee and tea and some snacks followed by the conference. The room was packed with not only the guests, but also tastefully adorned by all the products that Brandhouse represents. All is a wonderful and colourful setting. After the questions and answer session, all the guests were treated to a whole buffet of finger licking foods.

Thanks goes out to all the Brandhouse employees as well as Hans de Villiers from Knights Catering for contacting Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the photographer and capture the moments and events as they unfolded.

Brandhouse Womans Day Pampering

Brandhouse Woman’s Day Pampering

Image Solutions Photography and Design was asked to be the event photographer for a very special Woman’s Day celebration.

Brandhouse had the wonderful idea to give thanks to some of the mothers in our Cape Town community by having them relax for an afternoon at the Brandhouse headquarters while being pampered with facials and make-up sessions. They could relax while being massaged and indulge in the delicious foods on offer. There was even a surprise thank you gift bag and prizes on offer for a lucky few.

The day started off with a cocktail and social entertainment followed by the pampering session in indulgence. As the event photographer, I could just see the smiles on the faces of the ladies as their worries melted away and stresses disappear. It was wonderful to see their appreciation as they were treated to manicures and facials and make-up sessions. Brandhouse even managed to organise a guest speaker to talk to the ladies about their role in business in the community.

Being the event photographer, I truly have to take my hat off to the wonderful women in what they have achieved in their communities and find it wonderful that companies like Brandhouse recognises those women and truly spare no expense in letting them know they are appreciated in such a special way.

Thanks goes out to Hans De Villiers from Knights Catering for asking Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the event photographer and Brandhouse for sponsoring and hosting such a worthwhile event.

Nederburg Wine Launch at Kitchen Cowboys

Nederburg Wine Launch at Kitchen Cowboys

Image Solutions Photography and Design was asked to be the photographer for the media launch of Nederburg’s new wine. The name of the new wine is called “The Beautiful Lady” and one would not be mistaken in describing this wine as beautiful indeed.

The launch was held at the infamous Kitchen Cowboys Canteen in Salt River under the leadership of famous Masterchef judge Pete Goffe-Wood. This culinary “canteen” is a place where the average joe can hone their skills and become a master of the culinary arts under the helpful guidance of Pete himself.

As the photographer for the event, I was especially keen on capturing the moments where the food was being prepared and then of course the reaction on the faces of the guests as they sample the food paired with the wonderful selection of wines on offer from Nederburg. The day was focused around the pairing of the fine wines from Nederburg and the delicate flavours and cuts of pork prepared by Pete Goffe-Wood. Razvan Macici, the host for the day and also the wine maker of Nederburg, was very precise in his choice for wines with the food.

It was indeed a privilage to work with such talent and style in the kitchen and the guests sampling the food and wine on offer. For a rainy day, the vibe and atmosphere inside of the Kitchen Cowboys Canteen was as warm as a summers day.

Thanks goes out to Marlise Potgieter from DKC for organising the event and asking Image Solutions Photography and Design to do the photography. Thanks also goes out to Jani-Mari Swart from DKC for helping out.

Jayson Jones – Universum Top 100

Jayson Jones – Universum Top 100

Universum Top 100 tasked Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the photographer and capture Jayson Jones in his work environment as part of their Top 100 employer branding program.

Jayson works for Shoprite Checkers at their head office in Brackenfell as a Graduate and Bursary Scheme Manager. His team and him thus oversee all of those who would benefit from bursary and graduate schemes. What a wonderful way to give back to the community who support you!

Being the photographer for the shoot was indeed a fun affair. Jayson was so relaxed and comfortable in front of the lens that it was a great pleasure and of course a wonderful privilige to be his photographer. Jayson exudes a certain kind of confidence that is sorely lacking these days. He carries himself well and I can see that he is respected by those around him.

The day the shoot took place there were intermittend rain and as a photographer, I was extremely concerned about the shoot as it would not have been very successful had I not had the chance to photograph him outside in a more natural environment as well. Luckily the skies opened up and we had a ball of a time. Thanks Jayson. You were a great subject to photograph and you have an awesome smile!

For more images and other works, please do not hesitate to browse through the rest of the blog pages found on Image Solutions Photography and Design.

Distell War on Waste Winners

Distell War on Waste Winners

Distell recently asked Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the photographer for the final presentation and prize giving that was held at their head office in Stellenbosch.

A while ago Distell launched an internal “War on Waste” within the company to see where the company can save money and increase profitibility within the structures of the company. Many employees teamed up in their own various fields of expertise to see where they could wage war on wastage and as time progresses, these teams implemented their savings and ideas. This final presentation was the culmination of a long process to get to the final three teams and they were tasked to present their savings to the board of directors who would then choose one team as the final winners.

All three teams ended up with a prize for each individual and the winners received a little extra in the form of a 46″ LED Flatscreen TV! Not a bad prize at all.

As photographer for the prize giving, it was wonderful to see the teams work together in their goal of waging a war against the daily wastage that was ultimately costing Distell a lot of money. These cost saving methods and implementations taught those that took part in the War on Waste some valuable lessons that I am sure will stay with them for their whole lives.

Being the photographer for the prize giving was truly an experience and an eye opener to see individuals come together for the greater good and help Distell and the environment.

Good job Distell!

Distell Business Improvement Function @ JC Le Roux

Distell Business Improvement Function @ JC Le Roux

Image Solutions Photography and Design were tasked with being the photographer for the Business Improvement Initiative that Distell launched in alignment with the War on Waste.

The function was held at the newly renovated JC le Roux Sparkling Wine Estate and the attendees came from far and wide. One even from Namibia.

The idea of the war on waste is to see how internal structures can be put in place and initiatives used, to combat wastage within Distell and to increase the efficiency within the business through these ideas and measures.

As the photographer for the function, it was incredible to see the ideas that the attendees had come up with and the extreme savings that were generated through simple yet efficient implementation of these ideas. Not only did these ideas and measures save the company, but some of these measures could be implemented in staff houses to further save and fight the war on waste in their personal lives as well.

As the photographer, I was deeply touched by the humility of the teams and graciousness with which they worked together to make all of these measures possible. As photographer, I was honoured to be part of the function and the smiles of the attendees made my day and my job a pleasure to do.

Thanks goes out to Nicolette de Kock for organising the function and contacting Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the photographer for the day.

Graceland School Community Outreach

Graceland School Community Outreach

Image Solutions Photography and Design was asked to be the photographer at the Graceland School for kids during a community outreach sponsored by Distell.

I must admit that I have always loved taking pictures of children. I find their innocence so enduring and their smiles always shoots straight through my heart. This was again the feeling I received from the first moment I entered the school yard. From a distance I could hear the children shout “uncle” as they saw me approaching. These kids were awesome. That wonderful unconditional love a child as they hug your legs and want to be with you is something that is very hard to ignore and even more difficult to walk away from at the end of the shoot. Being the photographer for the outreach was indeed a privilege and I will most definitely be returning to the school for some more charity work in the near future.

Simoné Van Der Berg, the project manager, was so wonderful with the children and so understanding that she left a lasting impression with me. Thanks goes out to Wendy Bonthuys from Distell for contacting Image Solutions Photography and Design to be the photographer for the community outreach as it was indeed an honour being there.

Mia Turns 2

Mia Turns 2

Recently my good friends, Francois & Mari Retief, asked me to be the photographer and to capture some of the moments during the birthday of their daughter Mia.

I always love capturing family moments as a photographer and this birthday party had lots of everything. The day started off early with the preparations for the party and getting the house clean, but as soon as the guests started to arrive the atmosphere changed to that of fun and happiness. Mia was overloaded with gifts from all around and it was wonderful to see her smile as she opened her presents one by one. Being the photographer for the party was indeed an awesome experience. We even managed to squeeze in a braai during the afternoon which totally rained out! but the hotdogs were a definite winner for the party.

It was wonderful seeing so many moms and dads bringing their kids to enjoy the party with Mia as a second birthday party should always be a grand affair.
